A stabbing attack unfolded Monday evening at the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) National Science Complex, injuring one person.
The victim’s identity and condition have not been disclosed by authorities.
The Quezon City Police District, who is now leading the investigation, said the motive behind the stabbing remains unknown. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
The University released a statement confirming the incident, saying, “The victim was immediately brought to a hospital.”
The UPD administration said they are deploying more security personnel across campus in response to the incident.
“Everyone is reminded to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious to the authorities,” the statement added.

The incident has sparked concerns about security on campus, with social media users calling for stricter enforcement of entry protocols and improved lighting.
Ingrid Del Rosario Dumandan urged stricter enforcement of ID checks at side gates, particularly for those on bicycles and motorcycles.
Gian Tan questioned the attentiveness of roving security guards, commenting, “Maybe it would help if your roving guards take their jobs seriously. A colleague once reported an incident to one of your guards and his comment: ‘Baka type ka lang, sir.’”
Meanwhile, Argee Gallardo echoed concerns about limited visibility at night and called for more street lights and increased police or security presence. “Add street lights and police visibility. The place is too dark at night,” they said.
