CALABARZON emerged victorious as the overall champion at the recently concluded 2024 National Festival of Talents (NFOT) held in Naga City, Cebu. The region’s students and educators impressed the judges across various categories, showcasing their talent and dedication.
The NFOT is a prestigious annual event organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) that celebrates the diverse skills and abilities of Filipino students.
Students, teachers, and administrators across the region have fostered an environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and a pursuit of excellence.
Competitions are held in a wide range of areas, including the Technolympics for technical-vocational skills, Sining Tanghalan for music and arts, and language proficiency contests.
While specific details on all winning categories are not available, CALABARZON did achieve success in the NFOT Lingo Stars competition. Notably, Alyzabeth Kiersten F. Gutlay secured the champion title in the Korean Writing category. Meanwhile, John Xerohj Olivo claimed top honors for the extemporaneous speech category.
CALABARZON’s triumph marks a significant achievement, especially considering their consistent performance in the NFOT.
The victory is a testament to the hard work and collaborative spirit within DepEd CALABARZON. “Celebrating a triumph of talent! Congratulations to Team CALABARZON for this impressive feat,” the DepEd statement added.
This win builds upon their previous success, as CALABARZON was also declared the overall champion in the 2019 National Schools Press Conference held in Pangasinan.
This consistency highlights the region’s commitment to nurturing and developing the talents of its young population.
CALABARZON’s success at the NFOT inspires other regions, showing the value of investing in educational programs that support overall development and honor the diverse talents of Filipino students.
