Laica Pauline Uy, who competed in the Miss Cebu pageant in 2023, landed a spot among the top performers in the May 2024 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination.

Uy, also a cum laude graduate of Velez College in Nursing, placed ninth in the exams with a score of 90.20%, making her the only topnotcher from Cebu this year.

Initially pursuing a medical course in senior high school, she shifted to nursing after meeting nurses, and her passion for patient care grew.

“Your achievements speak not only of your capabilities but of your effort and dedication. We are so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished,” her mother Arvie Uy wrote in a post.
