Palarong Pambansa: Cebu gov’t unveils venues for major student sports event

The Palarong Pambansa organizing committee announced on June 10 the designated venues across Metro Cebu for the annual student sports competition set for July 6 to 17, aiming to deliver a memorable experience for the athletes.

The student athletic competition will feature over 20 main sports and four special games.

The key venues in Cebu include the Cebu City Sports Center for athletics and football, the Mandaue Sports Complex for arnis, and the Cebu Coliseum for boxing. 

Other notable locations are the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City for elementary boys’ basketball, and the University of San Carlos for secondary boys’ basketball.

Acting Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia emphasized the importance of the coordination between public and private sectors to facilitate the games. 

He said the common objective is to provide Filipino athletes with an unforgettable experience at the national games in Cebu. 

He also highlighted the willingness of various local government units to support the event by providing their facilities.

Get ready to cheer for your team. Here are the venues for each sport: 

Special games will be held at the Cebu City Sports Center for athletics and swimming, and at Bright Academy for bocce and goalball.

The event promises to be a significant moment for student athletes across the country, highlighting Cebu’s readiness and capability to host large-scale sports events.
