Student nurses spring into action to save man after tricycle crash in Caggay

Three student nurses from the Medical College of Northern Philippines (MCNP) rushed to aid a man injured in a tricycle accident in Caggay, Tuguegarao earlier this week. The students’ quick response showcased the importance of healthcare professionals in emergencies.

The accident occurred in a busy area near Patio Enrico, where a tricycle collided with another vehicle, causing serious injuries to a male passenger.

Witnessing the crash, the three students immediately went to the scene and provided essential first aid.

“Ang makita ang mga hinaharap na propesyonal na ito sa aksyon ay tunay na nakakapangilabot [Their swift response was remarkable],” said Deomel Aguada Macasaddu, who recorded the event on video.

“Ang kanilang mabilis na pagtugon at dedikasyon ay nagbibigay sa atin ng pag asa at pagmamalaki sa susunod na henerasyon ng mga healthcare worker [Seeing these future professionals in action is inspiring and gives us hope for the next generation of healthcare workers],” Macasaddu said in a Region Cagayan Valley Nationwide report.

The identities of the student nurses remain unknown, but their actions left a deep impression on the community. They are being praised as Good Samaritans and reflecting the training and values instilled by their institution, MCNP.

“Hindi ko sila personal na kilala, ngunit ang kanilang katapangan at kawalan ng pag-iimbot ay tunay na kahanga-hanga [I don’t know them personally, but their courage and selflessness are truly commendable],” Macasaddu added.

“Ipinagmamalaki namin kayo. Ang inyong mga aksyon ay nagpapaalala sa amin ng kahalagahan ng kabutihan at kahandaan na tumulong sa kapwa [We are proud of you. Your actions remind us of the importance of kindness and readiness to help others],” he said.
