The Commission on Higher Education of Central Visayas has granted the Mandaue City College (MCC) its Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for select programs.

However, the COPC is only given to five programs — its Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino, Math and  English, and Filipino; Bachelor of Elementary Education; and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

The MCC is still fulfilling the requirements to be given COPC for its Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and in Industrial Technology.

It may be recalled that the MCC is one of five schools delisted in the CHED’s list of institutions eligible for free tertiary education for school year 2022-2023. Its removal was due to its failure to comply with the policies and standards of CHED on the basics of putting a course on offer, such as providing qualified teachers and having adequate facilities, among others.

The free tuition grant is provided under Republic Act 10931 or the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
